The Great British Pub Awards Best Local Finalist 2019
September at The Fleece InnThe hedgerows are gleaming with blackberries & elderberries and it'll soon be back to practise for the bellringers and morris, September must be nearly here!
A huge thank you to all our customers and staff over a busy, sunny bank holiday weekend and also to the thousands who voted in the Vale & Spa Pub competition on Facebook, it was a tense finish, with a record number of votes but we just lost out to the Angel in Pershore. It's great to see people passionate about the local pubs - long live the local! And talking of locals we're over the moon to be National Finalists in the Great British Pub Awards for Best Local. The Awards are next week - wish us luck!
September sees the Autumn season of Fleecey Folk start, with the amazing Duncan Chisholm (tickets going fast) on Sat 14th September, which is also the day of Bretforton Show, held at beautiful Bretforton Manor.
This Sunday (1st Sept) Bretforton Theatrebarn is holding an Open Day, free entry, 2 to 5pm with backstage tours. It's an amazing building, have a look, join the mailing list, it's a brilliant asset to the village and we're really excited for the future of the Theatre.
We're also launching a new menu in the next few weeks, with a focus on local & sustainable suppliers, and the addition of some delicious sharing platters.
Read on for more happenings this month and we hope to welcome you to the Fleece Inn again soon,
